Wow! A lot of us were taught to obey with the above words attached. Under threat of corporal punishment, some of us as children complied. But as we grew up, we began to understand the great importance of following quickly those parental commands. This either developed a healthy respect or, regretful emotions that a close tender relationship was not developed. The patience issue, ( don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about children who buck the authority of their parents, but those who never felt that warmth in patient teaching ) was never developed the parents. When you come into the family of God however, this is not the case, He’s a kind teacher with the utmost patience and compassion. That doesn’t make disobedience any less dangerous. What is does is create a love for your Father and a greater desire to walk closely in His fellowship.
Eph. 4: 15,16
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
